Game Theory Academy was founded by Patricia Johnson in 2008 with the support of board members Namita Kamath and Debra Koffler.

Patricia Johnson, after receiving her MBA at the Yale School of Management in 2002, joined Pacific News Service/New America Media. During her tenure as Finance and Development Director she managed the organization’s doubling in size and wrote the business plan for a successful earned income venture. Over time, she became involved with the organization’s youth programs, helping launch two new projects: a youth advocacy collaborative with the state library and a new youth magazine based in Fresno, Ca. Patricia conducted writing workshops inside juvenile halls in Alameda and Fresno counties from 2003-2009 for The Beat Within. She received a BA in political science from the University of California at Berkeley.

Namita Kamath is a Director of Consulting at CB Richard Ellis. She received an MBA in 2002 from the Yale School of Management and a BA from Michigan State University in 1995.

Debra Koffler is executive director of Conscious Youth Media Crew. Prior to founding CYMC in 2000, Debra was a public school teacher in San Francisco. She holds a BA from Cornell University.
