Game Theory Academy was founded by Patricia Johnson in 2008 with the support of board members Namita Kamath and Debra Koffler.

Patricia Johnson, after receiving her MBA at the Yale School of Management in 2002, joined Pacific News Service/New America Media. During her tenure as Finance and Development Director she managed the organization’s doubling in size and wrote the business plan for a successful earned income venture. Over time, she became involved with the organization’s youth programs, helping launch two new projects: a youth advocacy collaborative with the state library and a youth magazine based in Fresno, Ca. Patricia also conducted writing workshops in juvenile halls in Alameda and Fresno counties from 2003-2009 for The Beat Within. She received a BA in political science from the University of California at Berkele.

GTA’s founding board members, with Patricia, are Namita Kamath, Director of Consulting at CB Richard Ellis, and Debra Koffler, Executive Director of Conscious Youth Media Crew. In 2012 two new members joined the Game Theory Academy board: Moira Geraghty, President of Solar Projects Solutions, and Dan Cavenaugh, Senior Executive at Accenture.
